20 Stake Youth Conference: An Experience to Remember!
Friday and Saturday, Aug 17-18, both the young men and young women ages 14-18 had the opportunity to attend a regional 20-stake youth conference held at BYU-Idaho. The conference had approximately 4,500 youth and leaders from all over Eastern Idaho come to feel the spirit and be gathered together as "peaceable followers of Christ." The conference had wonderful speakers, ranging from general authorities to retired baseball sensations, as well as activities to get the youth involved, such as a dance and a walk to the Rexburg Temple.
At first, the conference was both exciting and overwhelming, but as time went by, the youth began to come closer together and feel the spirit stronger than ever before. We were even blessed to hear council from both Sister Elaine Dalton, YW General President, and Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve, which the youth agree were perhaps the best parts of the entire conference.
So as we go about our day, let us all remember the feelings we felt and the friendships we made those two days. Let us never falter in our faith of the gospel and of the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Just remember Elder Bednar's testimony of the gospel: "It's true; it's all true."

We Came, We Saw... We Sparkled!
Camp is finally over, and everyone had a blast!
From canoeing, to camp cheers; from swimming, to 14 mile hikes; it was never boring up at Camp Cumorah! The girls had fun getting to know each other while doing activites and learning about new things. And when it came to camp spirit, nobody could outdo the 8th ward! :)
It was sad to leave camp, but I know we'll always remember the great times we had together!
Just always remember:
"Touch Gold!" and "Arise, Shine,.. and Sparkle!"
Pictures soon to come :)

Anyone up for the Hula?
For this month's combined activity, we had a big Luau in Sister Anderson's backyard. There was water balloon volleyball, a limbo contest, stick and hula dances, and wonderful food, of course :)
Everyone had such a blast hanging out and enjoying being with friends while wearing Hawaiian leis and flowers.

Ready for Camp?
Camp is right around the corner, and to get ready for it, we all pitched in and helped make some awesome surfboards to decorate the campsite with. We also decorated cute sand buckets with our names to use as mailboxes for Secret Sister and completed the finishing touches on our bags.
Afterwords, we all gathered around Sister Anderson's firepit to roast some smores. Yum!

Congratulations, Seniors!
Yesterday, we celebrated all of the seniors with a special night to thank them for all of their dedication and hard work. Although there was no young women graduating, it was fun to help support the young men preparing to go on their missions in the upcoming year.
Congratulations, Seniors!
